Refillable candles
Every LUĒR candle is poured into a hand-cast concrete vessel that is made to outlast the wax inside it. Nothing about it is disposable — when the last hour has burned down, the vessel is cleaned, dried and filled again.
How to refill your vessel
- 01
Burn to the end
Let the candle burn until only a thin layer of wax remains at the base. Extinguish and let the vessel cool completely.
- 02
Release the wax
Place the vessel in the freezer for an hour, then lift out the wax disc. Any residue can be wiped away with a little warm water and mild soap.
- 03
Remove the wick base
Ease out the metal wick sustainer and dry the vessel thoroughly before it is used again.
- 04
Begin again
Refill with new wax and a fresh wick, or let the vessel live on as a holder for matches, dried flowers or a small tealight.
Why we made the vessel refillable
We pour coconut and Swedish rapeseed wax with pure essential oils, in small batches on the Swedish coast. A vessel that is kept and refilled means less waste from each candle and a slower kind of ownership — one object, many seasons.
Standalone wax refills are not in the shop yet. If you would like to be told when they are, the studio is a message away.
